Payment Policy

As a funeral service leader, we are committed to supporting grieving families by creating meaningful and appropriate personalized tributes to honor their loved one’s life.

Our continued goal is to provide the respectful, quality service to which all our families have come to expect and are entitled to. Please let us know in advance if you are dealing with limited funds so we can tailor a service to fit your budget. We will never compromise a dignified funeral service as we are able to offer alternatives and options for any situation.

Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center has established a uniform payment policy. This policy allows us to exercise sound business practices, treating every family honestly and fairly, provide 24 hour a day care, and maintain an accessible, beautiful facility where families are comfortable gathering for services. Please note that full payment is expected after arrangements are completed and before services can be scheduled or obituaries placed. During the arrangement conference, you will be presented with a contract itemizing the goods and service that you have requested. To aid you in this, the payment options may be applied individually or in combination.  

While we acknowledge that we cannot take the pain away, with our guidance and assistance we hope to make your grief journey a little easier and perhaps less lonely.  We are humbled by the privilege to serve you and sincerely appreciate your confidence. 

We offer the following five payment options:

Full Payment is expected and due at the time of arrangements and when the Statement of Funeral Goods and Services Selected is completed. Please provide a copy of your driver’s license or ID. These options may be combined to satisfy payment.

Option 1: Cash or Check

A $50.00 charge plus bank fees will be applied for all returned checks.

Option 2: Credit Card

VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards. A 4% convenience fee will be added to the total purchase.

Option 3: Insurance Assignment though Express Funeral Funding

Payment with assignment of a valid, verified insurance policy. We do not accept policies that cannot be verified, insurance policies under 2 years old which are contestable, or any work-related insurance that cannot be assigned.

Since we value the time spent with our families, we use Express Funeral Funding to process all our assigned insurance policies. Their processing fee is 3.5% and will be added to the assignment.

Option 4: Prepaid Funeral Trust

We accept prearranged, prepaid funeral plans purchased before death, written through our funeral home. If the trust was not paid in full, the outstanding balance can be paid via another option. On a case by case basis, we may also honor a prearranged funeral trust written at another funeral home.

Option 5: Payment Plan

Our payment plan is financing through Lending USA, who offer payments for qualified individuals on a 3 and 5 year low interest payment plan. A 0% plan may also be available. Lending USA adds an 8% origination fee which will be added to the loan. To start the application process, please visit our website, go to “Resources” and click on “Funeral Funding”. 

Estates: Due to the uncertain time frame with estates, we will not invoice estates. If an estate is established, you will be responsible for the payment of the funeral expenses through one of the above payment options. You may then petition the estate for reimbursement for the payment of funeral expenses.

***Interest of 1.5% a month will begin to accrue 30 days after arrangement date on any unpaid balance not assigned. After 60 days, any balance not assigned will be turned over to collections.
